I have no endorsement or affiliation for any of the following schools, if there are some that are legit and would like to be added to this page. . . contact me by email.

In the Houston, Texas area there are several schools available and they are listed below.

  1. Lone Star College, North Harris location.

  2. Lee College, Baytown, TX.

  3. San Jacinto Community College

  4. Houston Community College, N.E.

There are several companies that rent tractor trailers and will help you pass the written CDL examinations BUT keep in mind, to be of interest to a quality company, you will have to be able to drive a standard shift truck. I will not place a link to any of these companies because I see no benefit for an unlearned driver.

I will say that I do see much benefit for a driver whose CDL license has expired and only need to regain it to go to work!

Most of these companies charge $350.00 to $450.00 for people who have never drove a truck so you should be able to negotiate it since you drive.

Please check our website out again for an upcoming book "by Robert Terrell", about becoming a truck driver (learning how to drive the big rigs), Release Date is projected to be May 2009.
